Christopher Gilbert Pérez (born August 14, 1969) is an American guitarist, best known as lead guitarist for the Tejano band Selena y Los Dinos.
He married the frontwoman of the group, Selena, on April 2, 1992. Pérez grew up in San Antonio, Texas as one of two children of Gilbert Pérez and Carmen Medina.

In 1986, he began his tenure by joining Shelly Lares' band. By the late 1980s, Pérez was respected among Tejano musicians for his guitar skills. This caught A.B. Quintanilla's attention; at the time, A.B. was seeking another guitarist for the band he produced, Selena y Los Dinos.
Between one and two years after Pérez joined the band, he and Selena began a personal relationship.
Selena's father, Abraham Quintanilla, forced them to end their relationship because he felt Pérez's image might damage Selena's career.

Born January 23, 1962 in Perth Amboy, NJ, Erben Perez was destined to play music. He grew up fascinated with all genres, in an environment that could only breed a legend. By the age of 13, he had been captivated with learning how to play guitar. Erben’s father, who couldn’t afford one at the time, made a promise, and when his first credit card arrived in the mail made true on it. However, not knowing the difference between a bass and a guitar, his father surprised him with a green hollow body bass instead. Erben learned quickly idolizing Jaco Pastorius and other New York bassists, dedicating all of his time to playing in neighborhood Rock, Funk, and Salsa bands. Following service in the military and medical school, Erben who at this point was the hottest bassist in the New York Latin scene, started working with upcoming Salsa singer Marc Anthony. 25 years later, Erben is still by Marc’s side having played for millions across the world, on numerous platinum albums, with no plans of stopping.
