    Into No Man’s Land, is a journal about the experience of a young American soldier, Patrick Seamus Flaherty, who goes to war in Vietnam to fight for his country. From the US, Patrick is sent to base in South Vietnam were he gets his gear, however, he is soon put on a helicopter on his way to hill , the hill were he will be fighting. He stays there for a couple of months, living in bad condition with little food. However he makes friends and attends his duty when the time comes. After finishing his service, along with his comrades, Patrick returns to a Base in South Vietnam where he gets ready to go back home. Unfortunately, one night at the base, the Marines were attacked, and most of Patrick’s friends were killed leaving him one of the only survivors. Throughout the story, one learns several facts about war such as the pain and violence it consists of, the lifestyle while at war, and the emotions one may have. The journal vividly explains the violence and pain of war, with clear details. It also describes the lifestyle, which is, supposedly, dreadful and miserable in both comfort and food.
